This site is very much a work in progress as I learn HTML and CSS and everything. I'm so glad I stumbled upon the neocities community, though, with everything going on with social media. It's such a creative, fun way to meet people and share interests! I'm looking forward to exploring more sites and gradually updating my own.
But I guess I should introduce myself... For now, call me B! I'm a 30-something creative soul exploring life, community, and identity. This past year, I've been hit with a lot of new experiences, interests, and realizations that I want to dig into here. But that's a bit vague, so here's a bit more about me:
I don't know if I'll update this forever, but since this is new and exciting, I thought I could keep track of goals and updates here! For ease of reading, I think I'll list things in reverse order, with latest update first. So here goes...
I made it through the CSS Beginner Tutorial and threw some simple, placeholder formatting on the site. I'm aiming for a sort of notebook paper look with the colors and lines. Not too shabby for my first go!
Up next is diving into the intermediate tutorials, I think. I have started brainstorming what I'd like in the bigger site, but I need to learn things like how to set up menus and things before I'll be able to make great navigation. I'd also like to up my formatting game and, if possible, learn to make things nice for mobile too. Though the latter may be in the advanced tutorials...
Anyway, I'm learning a lot!
I finished HTML Dog's HTML Beginner Tutorial and updated the content of this page. Before it was all sorts of tutorial code and placeholders. Now it's a bit more put together. Good enough until I learn more and actually have more content on the site anyway!
Next on my list is to go through the CSS Beginner Tutorial. See if we can get the content looking better. But maybe I'll also start on ideas of what the larger site might look like? I don't know. It may be smart to stick to basics for now lol. We'll see.
I joined neocities! Their beginner crash course was very helpful and got this page started.
