Scew Perfectionism!
~ First Post! ~ 2025.08.15
I've struggled for a bit to figure out how to start my blog. I have tons of ideas, but every time I sit down to write, I'm overwhelmed by this feeling of pressure to do well.
It's a feeling I'm quite familiar with. In the privacy of home, I love playing with new things and just creating for the joy of it. But as soon as there's a chance someone else might see what I'm making, I suddenly over think every step, feeling like even my process is under scrutiny. If I somehow do things wrong, that'll be the end of everything.
I'm sure it's not a unique experience. Much of history, human survival hinged on community acceptance. And with modern society and technology, there are so many realms that that instinct kicks in, even when there's no real danger in failure. And of course, purity culture and high expectations as a kid probably aren't helping (lol). But it's honestly exhausting to feel this way. And I hate that anyone has to feel this way.
But anyway, today I'm rebelling. No outlines, no drafting, no spell checking (except for "rebelling", I had to Google that one)... This is straight code, bb! Straight from the heart. And it feels good.
Hopefully this'll make future posts easier. Sure there are some that I do want to outline or make drawings for. But this is not high stakes. Just writing and sharing experiences for the sake of it. And I want to enjoy it, not stress about it.
If there's anything that's looming for you, I hope you can join me in this rebellion. For most of my life, I've struggled with the idea that things need to be done "right" or else it's "wrong". But things aren't so black and white. And also, everything is a process! Creating, skill building... it all starts out a mess. It's a journey to find a final form, and it won't always look how you imagined, but that's okay. You just might find it's exactly what it needs to be.
Well shoot, now I have to do an outro (lol). I guess I'll just share some of my plans for this blog. Like I said, it's writing for the sake of it, and I'm putting no guidelines on it. No posting scheudle, no real "niche". I'll just be sharing thoughts, experiences, and rabbit holes of current interests.
Hopefully some of the content will interest, entertain, or resonate with you, but no worries if not. I appreciate you giving it a chance! Hopefully I'll see you in the next post!
